A high-level delegation led by Qu Dongyu, director-general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), visited Switzerland from Aug. 21 to 23. During the visit, the delegation toured Syngenta's Stein R&D Centre, and learned about its latest achievements in developing agricultural technologies that reduce the land, water and energy needed to grow crops, enhancing crop health, and improving resource efficiency.

The delegation engaged in discussions with the company's leadership on topics such as creating a supportive environment for innovation, and assisting farmers in addressing climate change and other challenges. Qu pointed out that the restoration and innovative utilization of water and land resources are not only the key to sustainable farmland use but also a crucial link in guaranteeing food security and maintaining ecological balance of the world.
