With the conclusion of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, the Westin Beijing Jinmao Hotel completes its duties of providing services to the Games. On 22 February, the event services team of the Organising Committee of Beijing 2022 Games at the Westin Beijing Jinmao Hotel conducted a comprehensive review to sum up the experience. It said the services of the Hotel represented “a warm and thoughtful interpretation of the highest service standards and reflected the character of the host city of two editions of the Olympic Games.” The Westin Beijing Jinmao Hotel has lived up to the trust and fulfilled its duties as contracted hotel of the Games.
Fourteen years ago, the Westin Beijing Jinmao Hotel (the “Hotel”) provided hospitality services for the Olympic Summer Games Beijing 2008. In August 2020, the hotel officially signed a contract with Beijing 2022, once again becoming a contracted hotel for the Olympic Games.
To provide high-quality hospitality services for the Games, the Hotel formulated the Westin Beijing Jinmao Hotel COVID-19 Prevention and Control Plan during Games Time, and also organised training sessions and emergency drills to improve service skills.
The hotel, since 21 January, has been executing closed-loop management and providing hospitality services for the teams. It received a total of more than 300 guests, including those from 13 NOCs, 5 broadcasters and the OMEGA timing team. During the event services period, hotel staff and the event services team (225 people in total) devoted themselves to the project. The hotel received positive feedback from representatives of all stakeholders for its thoughtful and comprehensive services.
The Beijing 2022 Games coincided with the Chinese Spring Festival. The Hotel was decorated with Chinese elements such as red lanterns, paper pattern cuttings (for window decoration) and the Chinese character Fú (福, which means “fortune”), creating a joyful festive atmosphere for the guests and exhibiting rich cultural heritage of the country.
