Recently, Elkem and Sennics were respectively awarded the Platinum and Silver Medals by the world’s largest and most trusted ESG rating agency EcoVadis for their outstanding performance in sustainability. In the 2021 EcoVadis rating a year ago, the two companies got the Gold and Silver medals, respectively.
EcoVadis aims to improve the environmental and social performance of enterprises using the impact of global supply chains. Its rating criteria are based on a percentage scale, and companies with an overall score in the top 1% are awarded Platinum rating. The audit rating involves a total of 21 criteria across four major themes: environment, business ethics, sustainable sourcing, labor & human rights.
Elkem received "Excellent", "Advanced", "Advanced" and "Good" ratings respectively on the above four themes, all of which are above the industry’s average. EcoVadis holds that Sennics has achieved a significant improvement in carbon management in the context of China's "dual carbon" strategy.
In addition, Elkem received an "A" rating from the Global Environmental Information Research Center (CDP), a clear recognition of Elkem's outstanding performance in addressing climate change.
