On May 6, at the Mount Qomolangma base camp at an altitude of 5,200 meters, the members of the “Earth Summit Mission 2022” research team launched for the first time a balloon carrying radiosonde, which was independently developed by the Zhuzhou Research & Design Institute under China Haohua, aiming to gather information on ozone levels at high altitudes and solve the major scientific problem about how the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau influences the atmospheric self-purification capacity. They have acquired valuable data and filled in the gap of meteorological record at extreme high altitudes on the Mount Qomolangma.
