On August 6, Cangzhou Dahua’s bisphenol A (BPA) project with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons was successfully put into operation, delivering qualified products and excellent performances while meeting the standard for polycarbonate-grade BPA. This project will help reduce China’s dependence on imported high-end chemical raw materials and propel the development of the domestic new chemical materials industry. It also marks a solid step forward in strengthening Sinochem Holdings’ Cangzhou Dahua base.
With a total investment of RMB 1.198 billion, the BPA project of Cangzhou Dahua is one of the key projects of Hebei Province and Sinochem Holdings. Additionally, it is a high-end chemical demonstration project of Cangzhou Dahua, to improve the polycarbonate industry chain and core competitiveness of the enterprise. Products developed and manufactured under this project are widely utilized in the fields of high-end polycarbonates, epoxy resins, automobiles, and robotic manufacturing, as well as in areas related to information technology and home appliances.
In recent years, Cangzhou Dahua has focused on the development of the polycarbonate industry while expanding and strengthening its polyurethane business. In October 2020, its Phase I project with an annual polycarbonate production capacity of 200,000 tons, was successfully put into operation. In 2021, to further reduce production costs and ensure stable supply of the raw materials for BPA, Cangzhou Dahua decided to extend the upstream chain of raw material products for polycarbonates and build a supporting BPA project with a capacity of 200,000 tons.
After successfully commencing operations, Cangzhou Dahua’s BPA project is expected to increase the annual operating income by RMB 2.45 billion and realize RMB 400 million in profits, making it a new growth driver for the company.
