A low carbon alliance for the plant protection industry was officially established during a meeting held on July 29. The meeting, hosted by Chengdu Customs, was held with the support of the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). Syngenta Group China is a funder and co-founder of the alliance.
The alliance aims to explore new paths for low-carbon development in the plant protection industry, establish standards for green transformation, develop a robust repository of carbon footprint factors for plant protection products, facilitate the mutual recognition of carbon footprint calculation for such products and international standards, and promote low-carbon technologies.
On the same day, the CCPIA organized an event to introduce the carbon peak and carbon neutrality standards in the pesticide industry. Representatives from Syngenta Group China, Syngenta Crop Protection, and Yangnong Chemical shared their insights on carbon reduction and sustainable development practices.
